Our Story

Built from the reef up.

GBR Great Barrier Reef
Whitsundays, QLD

Off The Map Supply Co started with a simple observation: the gear you take into the ocean should be built for the ocean. Not adapted from something else. Not a compromise. Built for it.

Founded by Dave Derham — geologist, designer, and Airlie Beach local — OTM exists at the intersection of hard-goods manufacturing and ocean conservation. The background is geology: reading terrain, understanding material under pressure, designing for permanence. The location is the Whitsundays: one of the most biodiverse and threatened marine environments on the planet.

The brand was never going to be just a product company. Conservation isn't a marketing add-on here — it's a founding constraint. Every product sold restores reef. That's not negotiable.

The First Aid Vault is the first product in the line. A marine-grade, pre-filled hard-shell kit designed for the specific emergencies that happen on and around the ocean — where standard first aid kits fail, and where failure has real consequences.

"Built for the 1% of the time it matters."

What We Stand For

No compromises.

Purpose-built

Every product is designed for a specific environment, a specific use case, and a specific failure mode. Nothing generic.

Conservation first

Coral restoration is embedded in the product — not a checkout option. One unit sold, one coral frag planted on the Great Barrier Reef.

Material honesty

We use what works. IP67-rated PP, 1000D Cordura, marine-grade hardware. No greenwashing. No performance claims we can't back up.

Permanence under pressure

Products built to be trusted in the worst moments — far from help, under stress, in conditions where equipment failure is not an option.

Coral Nurture Program

Restoring the reef,
one sale at a time.

OTM partners with the Coral Nurture Program in the Whitsundays — a research-led, community-driven coral restoration initiative operating directly on the Great Barrier Reef.

For every First Aid Vault sold, a coral fragment is planted by local dive operators at active restoration sites. Not a donation. Not a percentage. One unit, one coral.
